Danielle Ward, MS, Director of Articles & Blogs at DiverseMedicine, is a medical student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – Georgia Campus. Danielle received her BS degree in biochemistry (minor in chemistry) from Louisiana State University in 2009, and went on to receive a Master of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Saint Joseph’s online graduate program in 2013. Immediately after completing her undergraduate degree, Danielle took on a position as a full-time research associate at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine where she worked for four years. In addition to being a full-time medical student, Danielle balances her time as a single mother to her 8- year-old daughter, volunteers as a GA-PCOM Student Ambassador, and most fitting for her role as Director of Articles & Blogs, she actively maintains her personal blog “Aspiring Minority Doctor” as a way to document her journey through medical school in addition to offering tips/advice to current pre-medical students on similar paths. She has been featured on Accepted.com, Medical School Headquarters, and in the JSNMA MAPS Minutes Fall 2014 edition.
