Dr. Cassandra Bradby, MD, Director of Community for DiverseMedicine, is a board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician at Vidant Medical Center and East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of Diversity for the Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) and a Clinical Assistant Professor for the EM residency program. Dr. Bradby graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA with a BS in Biology in 2001. She then attended a Post-baccalaureate program at Virginia Commonwealth University before matriculating into Meharry Medical College where she earned her Medical Degree. While at Meharry, Dr. Bradby served as the President of the school’s American Medical Association Chapter, chapter and regional officer for the Student National Medical Association, and was inducted into the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha.
While tutoring and working as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses, Dr. Bradby learned that she had a strong passion for teaching and education. With this in mind, she decided to pursue her residency training at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York where her dedication to teaching was appreciated and encouraged. While at Downstate, Dr. Bradby worked as the resident director of the medical student EM clerkship, and also served as the coordinator for multiple resident lecture series. During her last year of residency, she was elected to be an Emergency Medicine Chief Resident. As Chief Resident, she honed her teaching skills, as well as developed skills in curriculum development, interviewing residency candidates, and middle management.
In her role as Director of Community for DiverseMedicine, Dr. Bradby intends to foster the network and relationships necessary for our community’s members to succeed.
